Duncan House Dogs Release – EMR2018

Welcome to the Duncan House Dogs sonic experiment EMR2018rev1.2. This experiment is dedicated to Electromagnetic Radiation awareness. I hope you enjoy it !

Please let me know what you think, positive or negative your comments will help me create the next project. Procedure for the sonic experiment…. The Synthesizer sounds, were found on the website Looperman ( ww.looperman.com) and the electrical sounds are from another wonderful audio resource Freesound. (freesound.org) The vocal voltage measurements messages were created by connecting a coil of wire to my Digital Volt Meter input with audio report ON for a crude measurement of AC noise and a “spooky” digital voice. The drum loops are from my smartphone metronome app with added manual drum lines. The guitar part I played myself using an old Godin G3000 guitar and a Vox mini modeling amp. It was recorded using the built in condenser mics on my Zoom R24. The “melody” at around the 4:20 point is loosely based on the bass line from the Miles Davis composition “So What”. I though this is somehow appropriate, because it seems to me that most people are not concerned about electromagnetic radiation. The collected sounds are triggered from a great little program called soundplant (soundplant.org) using a re-purposed Hammond Organ bass foot pedal with the switch matrix cross wired into a PC keyboard encoder chip with an USB interface to a PC. Final mix, equalization and output to MP3 was done using Audacity (www.audacityteam.org) open source software.
