I find creating a musical performance based on audio loops that you play, record and mix live, on a variety of instruments to be the ultimate music creation process. It is created live so there is no editing, no remixing and EQ or effects adjustments.
I use a very simple setup centered around an eight input mixer and a two track Boss RC1 loop station combined with various musical instruments and soft synths on my ancient Android tablet.
